- ➤ St. Cloud will celebrate winter with free comedy shows on January 30 downtown — five of six shows cost nothing — and a weekend of events including a macaroni and cheese crawl, toboggan relay, and winter parade through February 1. WJON
- ➤ Public Safety Foundation & St. Cloud Subaru teamed up today with the police department to distribute over 40 new winter coats to children ages 2 to 18 during freezing weather, and organizers plan another giveaway at the newly opened Community Outpost as additional coats remain available. KNSI
- ➤ The Tri-County Humane Society in St. Cloud is showcasing Cindy, a 3-year-old mixed breed who is ready for adoption. Interested visitors can call (320-252-0896) or drop by during shelter hours to meet her. WJON
- ➤ FIRST Robotics is calling on local volunteers to fill judging and support roles at the Granite City Regional robotics competition from April 8 – 11 at the River’s Edge Convention Center. The event is expected to draw around 1,700 participants and does not require robotics experience. WJON

- ➤ Two men narrowly escaped injury Saturday when their pickup truck broke through weak ice on Lake Koronis at 12:30 p.m. (officials said they safely reached shore and called 911). WJON

- ➤ The Pilot Travel Center in St. Cloud underwent a $1.8M remodel in 2025 — adding self-checkout stations and new grab-and-go food options like a hot bar, applesauce, and cheese. The update aims to speed up service for customers. St. Cloud Times

- ➤ Sunken Ship Brewery in Princeton won first place for Bobby’s Maple Bourbon Stout at the St. Cloud Craft Bevi Tour over the past weekend — the drink was exclusive to the event and is not served in the taproom. WJON
- ➤ Blues Traveler, with Gin Blossoms and guest Spin Doctors, will perform at The Ledge Amphitheater in Waite Park on Saturday, Sept. 12. Tickets go on presale for Ticketmaster on Thursday, Jan. 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. with general sale on Jan. 23 at 10:00 a.m. KNSI
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City & MnDOT road crews are working to patch potholes on Highway 23 and 15 as warm days and cold nights cause road damage; residents can report new holes to Public Works at 320-650-2900, though repairs are temporary until a permanent fix is implemented in spring. WJON
