COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Women's Fund of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation awarded $163,200 to 16 local organizations to boost programs for women and girls - including a safe futures initiative at the Boys-and-Girls Clubs and a food entrepreneurship project in the area.  WJON

CULTURE NEWS

  • St. Cloud's first Mac and Cheese Crawl took place Saturday in downtown and attracted 203 locals who sampled inventive mac and cheese dishes, including buffalo and chicken-fried bacon versions, from ten eateries + MC's Dugout won first place while 7 West Taphouse and Olde Brick House earned second and third honors.  WJON
  • Last weekend the Bold and Bright festival featured a historic walking tour, a pond hockey tournament on Lake George, and a Winter Lights Parade with fireworks in St. Cloud using community spirit to bring people together.  WJON

ECONOMY NEWS

  • National gas prices remain at $2.83 per gallon while Minnesota prices dropped to $2.62 over the last week; analysts warn that rising volatility may push prices up soon.  WJON

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • St. Cloud offers many upscale dining spots where residents can enjoy meals from sushi to steak today. Restaurants like Cafe Renaissance and Coyote Moon Grille (and others) serve diverse menus in inviting local settings.  St. Cloud Times

SPORTS NEWS

  • St. Cloud State wrestling coach Steve Constanzo recorded his 300th win as the Huskies beat Augustana 21-14, keeping their undefeated NSIC record intact. His milestone builds on a 20-year career record of 300-33.  WJON
  • St. Cloud's Municipal Athletic Complex (MAC) is expanding with an added 14,000 sqft of arena space that includes a 4,000 sqft dryland room, three new high school locker rooms, and solar efficiency upgrades, with completion expected mid-March.  WJON
