CULTURE NEWS

  • The Spring Fling Craft Show will take place at Crossroads from March 13 through 15, featuring local artisans and their handmade items for visitors + offering vendors a chance to sell their crafts by registering online.  WJON
  • The Paramount Center for the Arts will launch its full March schedule with six live stage shows, 13 visual arts classes and summer art camps registration for kids opening March 2 (10:00 a.m.).  KNSI
  • Central Minnesota’s Best Brewery/Distillery nominees have been revealed with local spots such as Pantown Brewing (in St. Cloud), Goat Ridge Brewing, and Obbink Distilling joining craft drink fans’ vote, which opens today. Voters are invited to choose their favorite as the competition highlights the region’s creative brewers and distillers.  WJON

EDUCATION NEWS

  • SCSU Cyber Competition Club won the state cyber defense contest on Jan. 31 with six new members on its eight-person team and now will face regional champions on March 20 and 21 — including teams from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.  WJON
  • Local Education and Activities Foundation 742 launches its first Thanks a Latte campaign starting tomorrow during Random Act of Kindness Week, Feb. 14-20, inviting community members to donate $20 to honor school staff with a note and a $10 Scooter’s Coffee gift card + the remaining funds support enhanced opportunities.  KNSI

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Minnesota Department of Revenue warns residents that phishing emails and text messages are targeting personal and financial information during tax filing season (do not click suspicious links) and advises calling 651-296-3781 to verify any questionable communications.  KNSI
  • The Department of Agriculture hired Ron Dvergsten as a new farm advocate to help farmers facing rising costs and lower crop prices. He will work with farm families to offer free, confidential support with financial planning and debt reviews.  WJON

SPORTS NEWS

  • The SCSU Huskies wrestling team will face UW-Parkside at 2:00 p.m. this Saturday in Kenosha as they chase a conference title with an eight-match win streak. The team, with a 16-2 overall record, will then head to the Super Region V Championships on Feb. 28 in Marshall.  WJON
  • St. Cloud State Huskies men's basketball team is eyeing their first conference title since 2003 as they play tonight at Wayne State and need a win at Augustana Saturday to clinch the NSIC. Coach Quincy Henderson praises the team's resilience despite key injuries — they aim for an NCAA berth.  WJON
  • Jessie Diggins, a Minnesota athlete, earned a bronze medal in the women's 10km interval start free at Tesero Cross-Country Skiing Stadium on Feb. 12 + she joined other Minnesotans competing in the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Italy.  St. Cloud Times
  • High school wrestling tournaments are underway across Minnesota with Section 4A teams seeding today at Sibley East and Section 6AA teams seeding at Annandale/Maple Lake. St. Cloud Tech will host Section 8AAA competitions later this week, while other events are set at schools like Kimball and Canby.  WJON
