CULTURE NEWS

  • KVSC's 47th Annual Trivia Night with a Wild West theme continues today in St. Cloud as teams answer diverse questions + complete hangman puzzles during a scheduled break; reigning champ Stefan's Dream 27 leads with 2,865 points while play wraps at 7:00 p.m.  WJON
  • KVSC's Trivia Marathon (a 50-hour contest) continues today in St. Cloud as Popcorn 3:10 to Microwave holds third place, tied with Meyer Meyer Pants on Fire after day two. The contest ends tonight at 8:00 p.m. when teams vie for the Minnesota Masters of Trivia Trophy.  WJON

SPORTS NEWS

  • St. Cloud State men's basketball team clinched its first conference title since 2003 with an 87-80 comeback win over Augustana in Sioux Falls on Saturday. The Huskies, led by Kynan Philippe, extended a win streak to 14 games and will face Concordia-St. Paul on Wednesday.  WJON
  • On Friday at Target Center in Minneapolis, the Sartell-St. Stephen dance team finished second in the Class AA state competition while the Cathedral team earned a second-place finish in Class A after a tiebreaker; today a high kick round will continue at the venue.  WJON
  • At the State Dance meet at Target Center in Minneapolis Saturday, Cathedral clinched the Class A state high kick title (and took second in jazz) while Sartell-St. Stephen finished second in Class AA high kick and jazz events, showcasing strong local dance talent.  WJON
