- ➤ Former St. Cloud Times editor Don Casey, who worked at the paper for over two decades, died at his Sartell home last Thursday, Feb. 19, at age 91. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. March 19 at First Presbyterian Church in St. Cloud. St. Cloud Times
- ➤ Catholic Charities will host its annual Pack the Porches food drive on March 27 (7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) as part of FoodShare March Campaign, accepting donations at Pioneer Place on Fifth, St. Cloud Financial Credit Union in Sartell, and St. Cloud Hyundai, with Coborn’s matching up to $15,000. - ➤ Student athletes Charlie Ryks and Tom Kuriscak of Superior Recovery are offering a mobile sauna and cold plunge village at the CSB Mall during the True North Winter Festival. The wellness experience is open today from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and will run until Mar. 1 (via the E-Scholars program). KNSI

- ➤ USDA data showed Minnesota farms dropped from 65,300 to 64,000 and farmland declined slightly from 25.4 to 25.3 million acres in 2025. Average farm size increased from 389 to 395 acres as smaller operations closed (based on USDA statistical modeling). KNSI

- ➤ University Bridge and University Drive in St. Cloud will be closed from 5th Ave South to Kilian Blvd at 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 3 for a one-day inspection—weather permitting. Detour signs will guide drivers and pedestrians on alternate routes. KNSI

- ➤ In March, the American Red Cross will invite Minnesota donors to ease the blood shortage by donating blood plus receiving a free A1C test and a 15-dollar Amazon gift card, with results expected in a week or two via its donor portal. WJON

- ➤ Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News says that cold weather has refrozen many lakes, improving ice fishing access for panfish near persistent weed lines in Central Minnesota + ice fishing rules require fish houses to be removed by midnight on Monday in the south and by Mar. 16 in northern areas. WJON

- ➤ Cathedral's hockey team earned its 14th state tournament trip with a 3-1 win over Monticello on Wednesday night in Elk River and will face new opponents at Grand Casino Arena on March 4 when the start time is set. WJON
- ➤ St. Cloud’s Mike Schultz will compete in his third Paralympic Games in Milan, set for later this year + he has earned medals in adaptive snowboarding competitions representing his hometown. St. Cloud Times
- ➤ St. Cloud State wrestlers are heading to Marshall tomorrow to vie for their 10th consecutive Super Region V title — the Huskies, ranked 9th in Division II with a 17-2 record, include six top fighters aiming to qualify for the NCAA Tournament at a 10:00 a.m. meet. WJON
- ➤ Shari Dickerman, a ROCORI graduate, recently helped lead Team USA to Olympic gold and now serves as the Head Women’s Hockey Coach at Minnesota State University, Mankato, inspiring local players to dream big & work hard. WJON
- ➤ Luke Winkel and Wyatt Hawks led the men's basketball team to historic honors with both earning first-team All-Conference and Hawks named Defensive Player of the Year (first since 2019) as the Huskies posted a 23-5 record.
