COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Central Minnesotans can score a fully funded vacation with Bursch Travel when they collect radio codes each weekday from March 2nd to 19th; the winner will be announced on Friday, March 20th. Listeners can earn extra entries by using the station app plus entering codes daily by 7pm.  WJON

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Local gas prices in town increased to about $2.76 today due to the switch to summer blend fuel and higher spring travel demand. The rise follows a slight supply drop and national trends influenced by Middle East tensions – drivers might notice changes at the pump.  KNSI

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Career Solutions received a $100,000 grant from DEED to expand job training & wrap-around services for local youth and young adults while increasing affordable housing in underserved areas. The funding from DEED’s Youthbuild program signals ongoing support that will improve academic and placement services.  WJON

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Stearns County will host an open house to update the Quarry Park Master Plan for future trails and park improvements. The meeting runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on March 11th at the Stearns County Service Center (Waite Park).  WJON

HEALTH NEWS

  • Integracare Clinics has opened a new facility at 2251 Connecticut Avenue South in Sartell today offering extra space with primary care, physical therapy, and chiropractic services on the second floor and lab plus radiology on the first floor; the former building on 2nd Street will be sold or leased.  KNSI
  • The 2025 Cost of Care Survey from CareScout finds that caring for an aging loved one in St. Cloud costs about $98,384 per year and is expected to rise to over $132,000 by 2035. Assisted living fees are above the statewide median at roughly $81,000 per year.  KNSI

  • BeerCation invites locals to explore Central Minnesota's top pubs and breweries, offering points for prizes as they visit 13 stops in St. Cloud, St. Joseph & Kimball. Participants can sign up for free and use an online GPS check-in system to earn rewards over the next year.  WJON

  • According to the new 2026 Girls’ Sports Opportunity Index, Minnesota ranks first for girls’ sports with over 101,000 participants and 25 options statewide.
