COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Zonta Club of St. Cloud will observe its 75th anniversary with events: a tribute to Amelia Earhart at Pantown Brewing on March 11, an official celebration with scholarship awards at Anna Marie’s Alliance on April 9, and a cocktail party at Iron Street Distillery on May 20.  WJON
  • Metro Bus invites locals to show their gratitude on Transit Employee Appreciation Day when riders can thank drivers on Wednesday, March 18 in St. Cloud and nearby areas — messages may be sent by calling, emailing, visiting in person, or posting on social media.  WJON
  • Dairy Queen will offer free small vanilla cones (non-mall only) on March 19 to celebrate the start of spring, and Minnesotans can enjoy an annual ice cream tradition despite unpredictable weather.  WJON
  • This weekend in St. Cloud, residents can enjoy trails at Quarry Park and local museum events (the Pandolfo Experience on Thursday at Stearns History Museum and Print Social on Saturday), while a spring bazaar at Tech High School offers unique handmade goods.  WJON

CULTURE NEWS

  • A Taylor Swift tribute show by Taylor's Version is set for this Friday at Red Carpet Nightclub, where 18+ guests will use a separate entrance (with a blocked-off bar area). The venue is also adding game nights at its Martini Lounge starting March 19.  WJON
  • Liz Fiedler of Sunny Mary Meadow Farm released her memoir Flowers Bloom Anyway today, sharing her journey of loss and renewal after her husband’s passing. She is hosting book signings at local venues and now offers a Bloom Room rental for events.  WJON

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Career Solutions in Benton and Stearns Counties has received a $100,000 state grant through the Youthbuild program for job training and academic support for at-risk youth. The two-year grant is part of nearly $2 million statewide to serve over 600 young people.  KNSI

SPORTS NEWS

  • Kirill Kaprizov scored his 220th goal last night against the Lightning, breaking the franchise record in just 381 games after a congratulatory video from former scorer Marian Gaborik was shown at Grand Casino Arena. He now looks to build on his record as he chases a Stanley Cup.  WJON
