  • Helping Hands 365 in Little Falls is hosting Prom Day Smiles to give away prom dresses and suits for students who cannot afford an outfit. The event will take place on April 5 and April 12 at Trinity Chapel Church—donors are encouraged to contribute items that they will not use again.  WJON
  • The St. Cloud Rotary Club announced the lineup for Summertime by George, a series of free concerts running every Wednesday from June 18 to August 13 with shows beginning at 5:30 p.m. and headliners at 7 p.m. — no concert is scheduled for July 2 — and the program features returning favorites like Mason Dixon Line, Janelle Kendall's Perfect Storm and The Fabulous Armadillos along with new acts like Xpedition, 70's Magic Sunshine Band and Anthony Shore’s Elvis Tribute Show.  WJON
  • Today, Metro Bus invites residents to thank transit workers in person, by email, phone call or on social media — marking Transit Employee Appreciation Day in our community. The outreach aims to honor the employees who help keep local buses running smoothly.  WJON

  • The St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce named three local businesses—Great Harvest Bread Company, Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Homes and Modern Barnyard—for the 2025 Business Awards and they will be honored at a luncheon on May 7 at the Park Event Center for their business success and community work.  St. Cloud Times

CRIME NEWS

  • St. Cloud police identified 36-year-old Shane Michael Brunner as the fatal stabbing victim after a March 14 altercation at the 600 block of 12th Avenue North led him to be treated at CentraCare — St. Cloud Hospital, where he died Friday afternoon, and they later arrested 25-year-old Marquis Fisher of Sauk Rapids on a second-degree murder charge after he dropped the knife and fled the scene.  KNSI
  • Two men suspected of raping a student in an SCSU dorm were extradited to Stearns County and made their first court appearance; Sujan Tamang will have his next hearing on April 14 and Dipak Phayal is scheduled for an omnibus hearing on April 7.  KNSI

  • Gail Cruikshank, talent director at Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation, explained on WJON how Central Minnesotans can boost their workplace value by gaining skills in high-demand fields. She said expertise in cloud computing, AI, and cybersecurity — expected to drive growth in technology, healthcare, and finance — may help workers become more competitive.  WJON

  • The Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation is asking for public input to shape its strategic plan that will guide its work for the next three to five years. An online survey is open until March 31st to learn about local businesses’ sizes, types, involvement, and current challenges.  KNSI
