BUSINESS NEWS

  • Dangerous Man Brewing in Maple Lake will close its doors at the end of this month after 12 years of service—its final release 'Last Call IIPA' is now available in stores and online orders will be accepted until April 2nd. The brewery is also processing refunds for donations to its DM Outdoor Beer Garden.  WJON

CRIME NEWS

  • A Waite Park man named Jibril Ibrahim pleaded guilty to selling a fentanyl laced pill that led to a fatal overdose and he received a seven-year prison sentence; police recovered text messages linking the sale after the victim was found dead in her St. Joseph home on October 24th.  KNSI

CULTURE NEWS

  • A tribute to Minnesota comedy legend Louie Anderson will be held at Pioneer Place on Fifth on Friday at 7:30 p.m.—tickets are available and the event features musical guest DGS with local violinist Michael Shynes. An all-female rock band, Rebel Queens, will perform on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.—they will play rock music from the late 70s, 80s and 90s.  WJON
  • The St. Cloud Downtown Art Crawl will take place on April 18 (4:00 to 8:00 p.m.) along 5th Avenue and West St. Germain Street and is free for everyone to explore. Organizers promise a diverse lineup featuring experienced artists and newcomers with unique collaborations that offer art styles for all tastes.  KNSI

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Imagination Library will host its annual fundraiser feast to support literacy for preschoolers in the St. Cloud region—tickets for the themed four-course dinner went on sale Tuesday for events in Sartell on April 26th and St. Cloud on May 3rd.  KNSI

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A bill before the Minnesota legislature would allow businesses to let patrons carry adult beverages between locations, and local officials say it could bring a boost to downtown St. Cloud. The Social Districts Bill is still under review and will be modified further before moving forward in the Senate and House—officials expect progress this session.  WJON
  • St. Cloud approved a $1,725,000 contract with OPN Architects to handle design and engineering for Fire Station 6 and its training facility—detailed site drilling will begin over the next six months to a year as part of the plan, and the facility will open in 2027.  KNSI
  • The City Council approved the design for a $5.7 million sewer and resurfacing project along Lincoln Avenue on Monday night; the plan leaves an 18-inch gap between the sidewalk and property line to safeguard Val’s Rapid Serv sign and keep two parking spots intact. Val’s co-owner Aaron Henning said he remains concerned about extra snow removal costs (estimated at $20K–$25K) and traffic safety (due to people cutting through his lot) as work will begin later this year.  KNSI
