- ➤ VFW Post 428 and Disabled American Veterans in St. Cloud are installing a new DAV monument and adding a Veterans Tablet to honor more than 500 additional heroes; the new displays will be dedicated on Memorial Day — May 26th. Donors may submit names for inclusion at $130 per veteran via VFW Post 428 or the Stearns County Veteran Services Office. KNSI

- ➤ Stihl Wolf in downtown St. Cloud reopened this week under new ownership with a renovated interior—updated floors, a new color scheme and a resurfaced bar top—and an all-new drink menu featuring unique cocktails like a spicy pineapple margarita and blackberry bourbon. The bar, now open 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Wednesday and noon to 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday, is testing its soft opening with a grand opening planned next month. St. Cloud Times

- ➤ St. Cloud Police asked for help in finding a suspect who burgled an apartment on the 300 block of 14th Avenue Southeast just before 2:00 a.m. Wednesday when a woman woke to hear a man rummaging through her home; the suspect (a muscular black man with shoulder-length dreadlocks wearing a black coat) fled after her scream. - ➤ After 25 years, Ring Of Kerry will hold its farewell concert this Sunday night at the Paramount Theater in downtown St. Cloud. The band with original members Paul Imholte and Paul Cotton will end its run with a final show featuring the Eilis Academy of Irish Dancers (only 40 balcony seats remain) and (tickets cost $20 plus fees). ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources survey reported that the state's moose population remains stable—with 4,040 moose counted in northeastern Minnesota in January—and researchers warned that climate change and parasites may threaten future numbers. WJON
- ➤ St. Cloud River Bluffs Regional Park's compost site will run from April 1 to November 22 and accept yard waste such as grass, leaves, brush and tree limbs, with permit-fees at $30 for residents and $40 for nonresidents; permits can be applied for online, by mail or in-person at city hall. The site will operate only during posted hours and will be closed on Sundays, Wednesdays, Good Friday on April 18 and most federal holidays. KNSI

- ➤ Two St. Cloud lawmakers introduced Minnesota House File 2454—an act to fund law enforcement scholarships for police training—in a Capitol hearing on Tuesday. The bill would cover one semester of tuition at any Minnesota State college and may be renewed if eligibility is met. KNSI
