ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Sunday morning at 6:00 a.m., the St. Cloud Fire Department responded to a natural gas leak at 1420 Minnesota Boulevard Southeast at St. Benedict's, securing a gas meter and ordering a shelter-in-place — crews contained the leak before turning the building back over to staff. WJON
- ➤ A natural gas leak at a retirement community in southeast St. Cloud was handled early Sunday when firefighters arrived just after 6:00 a.m., placed a shelter-in-place order, and turned off the gas at a meter on Minnesota Boulevard while backup crews prevented sparks and allowed Xcel Energy to begin repairs after all residents were confirmed safe. - ➤ A Rice man charged with felony assault was found mentally incompetent to face charges—his case will be paused until he is restored to competence after he brandished a handgun during an argument with his girlfriend in December. WJON

- ➤ Paramount Theatre in St. Cloud is offering a busy May schedule that starts April 30th with a Boys and Girls Club youth exhibit and will feature shows such as C. Willi Myles on May 2nd, a Battle of the Bands with Slip Twister on May 7th, and a Jimmy Buffet tribute on May 9th. Tickets are on sale at the Paramount Box Office as the venue prepares for a spring season of entertainment. WJON
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Earlier this month, the Minnesota Department of Health investigated allegations of abuse at Edgewood Assisted Living in Sartell after a memory care resident with Alzheimer’s reportedly became aggressive during assistance—investigators found no significant evidence of staff misconduct. The facility met with the resident’s family, suspended involved staff, and reported the incident to the Adult Abuse Reporting center. St. Cloud Times
