- ➤ Pet owner Laura Ellavsky will propose a Rainbow Bridge memorial garden today at 6:00 p.m. inside the municipal building at Eastman Park to create a quiet park space where residents can hang pet collars (a plan that does not include a burial ground) and host grief support groups for pet loss. - ➤ The Bellamy Brothers will perform their mix of classic and new country hits at 7:30 p.m. on April 3rd at the Paramount Center, while GREAT Theatre will stage Mary Poppins from April 11th to 27th at the same venue—a fresh take on the timeless musical that has entertained generations. KNSI
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ St. Cloud School District 742 is celebrating several standout individuals this month as Superintendent Laurie Putnam announced that Apollo Science teacher Chris Ann Johnson was nominated for Minnesota Teacher of the Year—an honor given to 141 teachers. Apollo junior Abby Petroske will compete in the International DECA Championship in Orlando from April 26th to 29th, Apollo sophomore Charlie Bobick won first place at the State Swimming and Diving Tournament in the 200 IM, and the Tech Robotics team Pink Havoc will compete internationally in May. - ➤ St. Cloud School Superintendent Laurie Putnam said teachers first decide if misbehavior can be handled in the classroom or if administrative support is needed according to the Code of Conduct. She added that physical force is not allowed and that suspensions for serious cases will be reviewed each year—administrators make the final call for safety. WJON
- ➤ Sartell-Stephen Schools are watching a Minnesota House bill—House File 1124—that could let school boards start the school year before Labor Day; the district kept its 2026—2027 calendar open so it can decide after seeing if the change benefits students and families. WJON

- ➤ City officials in St. Cloud remind residents to keep storm drains clear of yard waste because clogged drains can cause flooding and allow trash to spill into local waterways — a risk that can damage roads and infrastructure. Residents are urged to join the Adopt-A-Drain program using simple tools like a broom, rake, gloves, and a bucket — a key part of the spring cleanup. KNSI
- ➤ The northbound lane of Kilian Boulevard was closed on Monday for stump removal with crews working between 8th and 9th Streets and between 10th and 11th Streets — a detour was posted for motorists while southbound traffic stayed open and work ended by 3:00 a.m. KNSI
