BUSINESS NEWS

  • Bravo Burrito, a longtime favorite in St. Cloud, will celebrate its 40th birthday this month with two special events. On April 16, customers wearing Bravo merchandise can order meals at 1985 prices and on April 26 the restaurant will stay open late with a live DJ — recreating its original backroom vibe.  KNSI
  • The St. Cloud Area Business Showcase will be held on Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the River's Edge Convention Center—featuring nearly 70 vendor booths with games, giveaways, networking, and job exploration, and the event is free to attend.  WJON

CRIME NEWS

  • Police arrested three people in Waite Park on Tuesday after officers investigated the 500 block of Division Street and found handguns on two 18-year-olds (from Brooklyn Center and St. Paul) and drugs on a 19-year-old from Bloomington while a fourth person was released.  WJON
  • Three men were arrested Tuesday after officers executed a search warrant at a Waite Park home on the 500 block of Division Street—two were found carrying firearms against restrictions and one had drugs—while a fourth person detained was later released as the three booked individuals await formal charges in Stearns County jail.  KNSI
  • St. Cloud police are asking for help identifying a man who entered the women's shower at the YMCA on March 31st—he was seen partially undressed using his phone and is described as a white male about 6 feet tall with an average build and dark hair who fled before officers arrived.  KNSI

  • Author Denny Smith will appear on KARE 11 this Saturday at 8:20 a.m. to discuss his quick-read book that offers advice for youth sports athletes and mentors—drawing on his 50 years of teaching and coaching experience.  WJON

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Barber Hussle The School—a new barber school founded by Maurice Burson—will open in Crossroads Center Mall in May to offer a 9-month course for 10 students that teaches barbering and retail skills required by state standards while also providing haircuts and eco-friendly hair care products to the public.  St. Cloud Times

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources said registration is open for its I Can! programs that let families learn new skills in camping, paddling, mountain biking, fishing, and archery with hands-on instruction and provided gear. Some programs charge a fee while others are free — details vary by activity.  KNSI

  • Gaits of Hope in Rice received $100,000 from the Support Our Troops license plates program — an initiative by the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs — to fund equine therapy for veterans and their families.  WJON
