- ➤ KCLD will host its popular Easter Egg hunt on April 19th at Waite Park Baseball Complex — children up to age 10 are invited to search for eggs after the Easter Bunny arrives at 9:15 a.m. — with the hunt beginning at 10:00 a.m. KNSI

- ➤ Sue's Drive In reopened for the season on April 4th in Pierz and served burgers, shakes, fries and fried pickles at 425 Main St S. Run by Roger Schulte—who bought the stand from his sister Sue Sand—the business will serve local diners until it closes for winter in October. WJON
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Stearns County judge sentenced 36-year-old Aaron Edberg to 30 years in prison for sexually abusing a preschool-aged girl between 2020 and 2021 while he lived with her and her mother in Eden Valley — the abuse came to light when the girl reported it to a teacher in December 2023. WJON

- ➤ The Rotary Club of St. Cloud held a rally at Legends Bar to boost excitement for the Summertime by George concert series, which will feature eight shows if weather permits. Janelle Kendall from the music committee said the series will include ’70s and ’80s sing-along tunes—along with an Elvis impersonation by Anthony Shore—and she expects strong attendance. KNSI
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ District 742 is hosting a walking tour at Apollo High School at 10:00 a.m. today to let voters see needed improvements on the 50-year-old facility, including secure entrances + updated technical education classrooms. Officials will pitch a two-part referendum on Tuesday that asks if the school upgrades should move forward and if a new multipurpose indoor athletic facility costing an estimated $65 million should be built, which would cost an average property owner about $3.33 per month. - ➤ St. John's Prep established an Endowed Chair in Theatre during a Thursday night reception before a performance of Disney's The Little Mermaid—Brother Paul Vincent Niebauer, the longtime head of the theatre program, was named for the role as part of the school's $10 million Prep Forward: Our Time Is Now campaign. The new chair is a milestone in the school's commitment to the performing arts. WJON

- ➤ Tri-CAP, which serves Stearns, Benton, Sherburne and Morrison counties, is urging residents to apply for heating assistance as the Energy Assistance Program is expected to run out of funds soon. The program has helped nearly 6,700 households this heating season and provides grants ranging from $200—$1,400. WJON

- ➤ CentraCare at St. Cloud Hospital will host an interactive open house at its new surgical center on April 15 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Attendees will park in the South Ramp and take the elevator to Floor A (the event is free and open to all ages). KNSI

- ➤ St. Cloud Golden Gloves Boxing is hosting its Spring Fling today at the St. Cloud Armory — doors open at 1:00 p.m. and bouts start at 2:00 p.m. The event will feature 17 matches including three tournament box-offs that will decide which fighters advance to the Golden Gloves Championship on April 18th and 19th at The Park Event Center, and admission costs $15 at the door.
