BUSINESS NEWS

  • Coborn’s in St. Cloud will buy two Kessler’s food and grocery stores in Aberdeen and Miller, South Dakota this month. The deal will bring Coborn’s to four stores in South Dakota and keep the Kessler’s name—while all 250 employees remain on board.  St. Cloud Times
  • Simply Serene Wellness and Aesthetics opened a new Sauk Rapids location on March 24 at 1205 Franklin Ave. NE, tripling its size and adding six procedure rooms including a training room for classes and laser services— the business will continue serving the St. Cloud metro while engaging with the local community.  St. Cloud Times
  • The St. Cloud Area Business Showcase will be held on April 8 at River's Edge Convention Center where over 60 local businesses will offer booths with networking options, food + drinks, games and a drawing for a 58-inch television. The free event is set to help residents connect with local services and explore career opportunities.  St. Cloud Times

CULTURE NEWS

  • Today, a new two-player version of the popular board game Everdell called Everdell Duo became available in stores and offers a cooperative campaign mode—details were shared on the bi-weekly Table Talk show on WJON. The show also previewed upcoming game projects, including a crowdfunding expansion launching on April 22 and a local Pokemon League set for the second and fourth Saturdays.  WJON

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Officials in Waite Park nearly finalized plans today to relocate City Hall staff during its renovation — the plan calls for a temporary closure on May 1st and 2nd, moves the police department to the public works building, and requires sergeants to take home squad cars until work is complete. Officials said clearing the building will secure sensitive equipment and may shorten construction by up to six weeks.  KNSI
