- ➤ Wapicada Golf Club in Sauk Rapids is rebuilding its damaged cart garage with a new facility that is 30 feet larger and will store 80 new carts and 30 member carts. The club plans to open on Friday, April 10 and complete construction by May 1. WJON
- ➤ House of Pizza has reopened in Sartell inside Coborn’s grocery store on Pine Cone Road offering dine in, takeout and delivery with a menu like its St. Cloud restaurant + owner Brandon Testa is eager to merge local family businesses. St. Cloud Times

- ➤ Country star Brad Paisley & rising act Avery Anna will perform at the Grandstand stage at the State Fair on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 7 pm. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 19 at 10 a.m. & doors open at 6 pm. WJON
- ➤ Minnesota native Chris Tungseth impressed judges on American Idol with a heartfelt rendition of 'I'll Be' that aired Monday on NBC and Tuesday on Peacock as he advanced to the vote stage. WJON
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ After an arson fire, Westwood Elementary will hold remote lessons today with pickup for printed materials at District Administrative offices and Westwood Church. Local groups including Great River Children's Museum, YMCA, and Roosevelt Boys and Girls Club are offering field trips, childcare, meals, and food access (registration required). WJON
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Minnesota DNR warns residents to avoid pruning oak trees from April to July as sap beetles spread fungal spores that cause oak wilt; residents are urged to use certified firewood to help prevent the disease. WJON
- ➤ Prairies Edge Wildlife Drive at Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge is open from April 1 through November 30 for a scenic 7.3-mile adventure that visitors can drive, bike or walk, with stops at overlooks to view wildlife (speed limit is 20 mph) just north of Orrock on Sherburne County Road 5. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ County Road 157 between Albany and Freeport will close for a full six-month reconstruction starting Monday, Apr. 13 as crews rebuild the roadway by removing a trestle, replacing culverts, and adding six-foot paved shoulders while Interstate 94 serves as a posted detour and all work is weather-dependent. - ➤ TriCounty Humane Society in St. Cloud is featuring Daisy, a six-month-old puppy with a heart-shaped nose who is ready for adoption. Interested families can call 320-252-0896 or visit the shelter during business hours at 735 8th Street NE. WJON
- ➤ The Minnesota DNR offers free fishing for moms *May 9-10* with contests awarding gift cards, fishing rods and safety gear, while adults may fish free when with a child under 16 *June 5-7*. Two fishing webinars *May 6 and 8* will prepare participants for both events. WJON

- ➤ Former St. Johns Prep athletic director Pete Cheeley was inducted on March 25 into the MNIAAA Hall of Fame in recognition of decades serving school sports. He continues to work as a basketball and football official with the St. Cloud Officials Association. WJON
