CULTURE NEWS

  • St. John's Prep is presenting Hadestown Teen Edition, a musical take on ancient Greek myths with memorable tunes, today at 2:00 p.m. and Saturday at 7:30 p.m.; extra performances are planned from April 16 to 18 at Humphrey Theatre on campus, with tickets at $25 for adults and $20 for students.  WJON

SPORTS NEWS

  • Nolan Bigaouette helped lead Cathedral to a 10 to 6 win over Pierz on Wednesday, Apr. 8. His home run and strong hitting effort sparked the Crusaders, who out-hit the Pioneers 9 to 6.  WJON
  • St. Cloud State University announced it will revive men's golf and women's golf plus men's cross country for the 2026 to 2027 season, adding three teams to its athletic program of 20 teams. The teams will compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.  WJON
  • On Thursday, April 9, the Johnnies beat the Saints 17-1 and 10-3 at the ballpark with strong pitching from Max Edwards and Hunter Hoen and key hits by Alex Matchey. The team out-hit the Saints by a wide margin in a game that boosted local college baseball spirit.  WJON
  • The SCSU Huskies swept the Winona Warriors in a doubleheader on April 10 at home. Eamonn Mulhern and Connor Larson led strong pitching while the team delivered timely hits to secure the wins.  WJON
