ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • At about 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, 45-year-old Douglas Cramlet from Milaca crashed his pickup into a black bear on Highway 23 in Maywood Township just east of Foley and was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  WJON

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Owner Chad O'Brien will open his renovated O'Brien's Dry Goods Antique and Vintage Market on April 30th at 10:00 a.m. at 611 West St. Germain in downtown St. Cloud—housed in an 1880s building with restored wood floors and original tin ceilings, the market will offer hand-picked local vintage clothing and antiques from both his collection and vendors.  WJON
  • Sage & Salvage — a pop-up shop selling refinished furniture, art and local goods — will open in St. Cloud’s east end from April 25 to 27 and host a painting demonstration on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. as it works with local vendors to help revitalize the neighborhood.  St. Cloud Times

  • Foley Mansion in south St. Cloud will host a Mother's Day Tea and Vintage Clothing Exhibit on May 9th, May 10th, and May 11th at 9:00 a.m., noon, and 3:00 p.m. — tickets cost $35 and are non-refundable.  WJON

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Sartell-St. Stephen schools announced a controlled burn will take place today from 9:00 a.m. to Noon in the forest between Riverview Intermediate School and Sartell Middle School—Prairie Restoration Inc. will manage the burn and ensure safety for students, staff and the community.  WJON

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Stearns County Commissioner Leigh Lenzmeier retired effective immediately after submitting his resignation letter Wednesday amid concerns over his health and mental capacity—ending more than 34 years of service—while a closed-door hearing to decide if his wife’s emergency guardianship becomes permanent is scheduled for May 22nd.   KNSI
