COMMUNITY NEWS

  • City officials will host a community workshop on May 7 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at City Hall to update downtown St. Cloud's Comprehensive Plan, led by Community Development Director Matt Glaesman and the Planning and Zoning office; attendees can offer feedback online or in person and will enjoy provided refreshments.  KNSI

  • Art in Motion in Holdingford will reopen tomorrow for its sixth season along the Lake Wobegon Trail with rotating art collections, live music, and locally sourced food at its Boho Café—providing a quiet spot for bikers and art lovers. Owners Greg and Cindi Konsor will host upcoming events such as a blood drive and book talk while refreshing menu items and shifting Saturday music to the afternoon.  St. Cloud Times

CULTURE NEWS

  • Art in Motion, a local art and food venue, will reopen for the season on April 29 at 1400 Fourth St. in Holdingford. The site features a large mural, a nature walk with bird houses, and a porch with views of the Lake Wobegon Trail—bringing local art and cuisine back to the community.  St. Cloud Times
  • Happy Thyme Asian Market held its grand opening on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in St. Cloud with performances by Madison Elementary’s Chinese Immersion Choir and a Kung Fu demonstration—owner Wei Zheng said he is excited to offer a new place for shoppers to explore Asian culture.  WJON

EDUCATION NEWS

  • St. Cloud Tech's Emerie Schraw won first place in the Extemporaneous Reading category at the Minnesota State Speech Finals on Saturday—she competed against students from many schools. Moorhead also claimed its ninth consecutive team title at the event.  WJON

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The St. Cloud Area Regional Human Rights Commission will host a town hall in Sartell on May 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Sartell Community Center—850 19th St. S.—where community members will share what they like about living in the city and offer ideas for improvement.  St. Cloud Times

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • St. Cloud restaurants will offer themed specials from May 11 to 17 during Restaurant Week, with dishes like grilled margarita shrimp and vegan cinnamon rolls + a daily $50 gift card giveaway for diners. The event will begin on Mother’s Day with 'Mom's Favorites' and will feature local flavors throughout the week.  St. Cloud Times

  • In March, Stearns County home listings had a median price of $354,900, up 9.9% from February but 2.8% lower than last March. Homes sold in a median of 37 days—much faster than the 53-day national average.  St. Cloud Times
