COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The St. Cloud Area Farmers Market reopened for the 2025 season and runs on Saturdays through October—about 30 vendors offer a mix of produce, plants, pastries and other goods downtown. Longtime vendors like Golden Bee Acres and new faces such as Cowgirl Acres bring a variety of items to the market.  St. Cloud Times
  • Tanner's Team Foundation in Sauk Rapids announced it has awarded over one million dollars in grants to Minnesota families facing life-threatening illnesses—helping with costs like mortgages, car and utility payments. Co-founders John and Cindy Fuls said the volunteer-run nonprofit uses funds raised from local events to support families.  WJON
  • Quarry Park and Nature Preserve will host Kids to Parks Day this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event offers activities such as rock climbing, fishing, bird watching, and charcoal art along with booths from the County Parks, Public Health, and Sheriff's Departments—entry is free.  KNSI

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Students at Tech High School participated in a mock crash on Friday afternoon to learn about the dangers of drunk driving—juniors and seniors saw a simulation of an accident with one fatality and multiple injuries. Principal Molly Kensy and Officer Rachael Johnson said the event shows how quickly bad choices can lead to serious outcomes during prom and graduation season.  KNSI

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Crews will perform planned utility work on Thursday that will close one lane on 10th Avenue in St. Cloud — leaving only one southbound lane open between 1st and 2nd Street North from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The work continues a project that blocked all northbound lanes in February while ensuring that fire station access remains clear.  KNSI

  • CentraCare doctors, Dr. Ulrika Wigert and Dr. Jill Amsberry, will talk about rural healthcare in Central Minnesota in the Bremer Room at St. Cloud Public Library on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.—the event is sponsored by the League of Women Voters.  WJON
