- ➤ Longtime St. Cloud resident Charlene Rasmussen Holes, known for her dedicated service as a nurse and active church member, passed away on May 9. Visitation is set for May 22 at Benson Funeral Home (4:00 to 7:00 p.m.) and funeral services will be held May 23 at First Presbyterian Church. WJON
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ HuHot Mongolian Grill — located on West Division Street — will close permanently on May 25 so customers can use their gift cards before the last day. The restaurant took over from Mongo's Grill in fall 2024 and is set to end operations on Memorial Day. WJON
- ➤ Clutch Take and Bake Pizza in Sartell is permanently closed — FOR LEASE signs and an updated Google listing confirm the shutdown — with no statement provided by owner Shawn Lindsay. WJON
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Benton County Historical Society and Museum has revealed two Nazi flags captured by historian Edward Sowa during the Normandy campaign; one flag, which hung on a government building and bears his unit's signature, will be displayed at the Minnesota Military Museum in Sauk Rapids as the museum completes renovations. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Nearly 20,000 students from 59 elementary schools participated in the Rox Reading Program this school year, earning game tickets, backpacks, and cash prizes with support from Magnifi Financial and local schools. The program, which began in 2012, continues to inspire a love of reading in our community. WJON
- ➤ Nine-year-old Owen Bohn-Gettler of Sartell will release his debut book, 'Team S.T.U.F.F. #1: The Miserable Madness of the Mill Monster,' at a party on May 30 at the Sartell Community Center from 9:00 a.m. + 11:00 a.m., where he will sign copies and display his original drawings. KNSI
