COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Diners in St. Cloud will enjoy Restaurant Week today with a 'Fully Loaded' theme that features epic burgers, pork nachos and loaded baked potatoes at local venues—others offer Cajun pasta, hearty Mexican appetizers, all-you-can-eat options and a chocolate dessert. KNSI
- ➤ St. Cloud area residents will pack 500 free food boxes on Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at FACT’s headquarters (2625 Clearwater Road) to help feed families in need. The boxes include shelf-stable food items (pork-free and peanut-free) and will be distributed on May 24th at 9:00 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. KNSI
- ➤ St. Cloud’s Dream Center, a nonprofit serving the community for 30 years, is raising funds to renovate its facilities at 536 and 529 16th Avenue North. The center will install new windows in June and update the siding in 2026 — it will host an open house on July 17 to mark its anniversary. WJON

- ➤ The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota is launching creative summer programs for teens that include photography field trips + Fortnite tournaments along with semi truck simulator training. Registration is open for free activities + spaces are limited for club members. WJON
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Mother’s Love Childcare Center has proposed to use the former Ace Bar — a long-vacant building on the east side — as a new daycare that would serve 100 children and run Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The St. Cloud Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on May 20th at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall to consider changing the conditional use permit. - ➤ The Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety reported that over 6,400 distracted driving citations were issued in April — including 221 by the St. Cloud District and 110 by the St. Cloud Police Department—with officials noting that this campaign saw 1,000 more tickets than April 2024 and followed last year’s toll of 29 deaths and 137 serious injuries linked to distracted driving.
