- ➤ Dr. Thomas Math of CentraCare explained hantavirus, noting its rare occurrence and flu-like symptoms that can lead to pneumonia. He said the virus spreads mainly via rodent urine and that person-to-person transmission is extremely limited (only seen with the South American strain). WJON

- ➤ As boating season starts, residents in Stearns County must use life jackets and follow boating safety guidelines while operators under 12 cannot drive high-powered watercraft without adult supervision; boaters are advised to check the weather and register motorized watercraft longer than 10-ft with the Minnesota DNR. - ➤ New data from Realtor.com shows that February's Stearns County home sales median dropped 6.8% from $295,000 last month to $275,000 but increased 11.1% from $247,500 a year ago; recorded sales rose 7.2% compared to last February. St. Cloud Times
