- ➤ The cold May temperatures have kept lake waters in central Minnesota in the 40s, making Memorial Day weekend swimming unsafe, state climatologist Pete Boulay said. Residents heading to cabins or resorts are advised to bring rain gear and exercise caution (even if the air feels warm above). WJON
