ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • During Memorial Day weekend, the Minnesota State Patrol responded to over 200 traffic crashes on roads—101 with property damage and 15 with injuries on Friday and 81 with property damage and 17 with injuries on Saturday—reporting more than 30 crashes that resulted in injuries.  WJON
  • On Saturday night, a pedestrian was injured when a 20-year-old driver struck him while he was crossing 7th Street Southeast in St. Cloud at about 10:00 p.m.—Brian Schrader was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the driver was unharmed.  WJON

  • Lucky Beauty Bar, a new luxury beauty bar in St. Cloud, opened on Saturday from Noon to 4:00 p.m. and offers bridal makeup, facials, and airbrush spray tans in one spot—1011 2nd Street North in Executive Plaza.  WJON

  • John Decker from the Stearns History Museum chronicled how local town names changed over time—Luxemburg was once West St. Augusta and Grand Lake was known as Grand Lake Park—with other settlements like St. Nicholas, Cold Spring, and Richmond following similar histories.  WJON

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, Minnesota launches extra police patrols statewide and begins an AI pilot project in St. Cloud to help guide officers in reducing accidents — both initiatives will run until Labor Day.  WJON
