COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota will offer free meals to enrolled children during summer break starting June 2nd in Sauk Rapids and June 3rd at other locations—these clubs will also provide sports, fine arts, and educational activities to keep kids engaged throughout the summer. - ➤ St. Cloud State University’s Husky Stadium will host the 5th Annual COP House Soccer Camp from June 3 through June 6 at 1 pm to 4 pm—where police officers and SCSU soccer players teach free soccer skills to kids aged 6 to 14 from across central Minnesota. Registration is required and cleats will be provided for those who need them. WJON
- ➤ On June 9, community dancers will perform at the College of St. Benedict in the upcoming Dancing With Our Stars Live to raise funds for women. One dancer, Angie Hill from Minnesota Concrete Products, will dance with her partner Michael Adams — they will perform The Hussle — while the event offers prizes and ticket options. WJON
- ➤ Summer brings a string of festivals with art, music, and food to different parts of Minnesota, and local events in St. Cloud add to the community spirit. Residents can join the Crafts and Cocktails Fair in downtown on Sunday from 1:00—5:00 p.m. while events from car shows to markets also take place statewide. WJON

- ➤ The St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce will host its Lunchtime Learning session on workplace laws on June 4 at 1411 W. St. Germain St.—the event offers lunch and an optional discussion at 1 p.m. with registration required by June 2 at $25 for members and $35 for non-members. St. Cloud Times
- ➤ Hormel Foods will welcome 95 interns from 50 schools this summer, including St. Cloud State junior Spencer Lundberg who will work in Production Management at its Willmar facility. The program offers hands-on business experience in several departments + aims to lead to more full-time positions. WJON
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Travis Peterlin, a 43-year-old Sartell man who pleaded guilty to check forgery and stealing down payments for a remodel, was sentenced in Stearns County District Court to an 18-month stayed sentence for forgery and a 1-year and 1-day stayed sentence with a 90-day jail term—if he pays $30,000 of the over $77,000 restitution by the end of June—while facing more charges in Isanti, Sherburne, and Hennepin counties. - ➤ Starting June 5th, Sauk Rapids will host Rock The Riverside—a 13-week summer concert series featuring local and regional bands, food trucks, and a Lakes Jam pre-party with giveaways. The first event will have Wayside opening and Pandemic headlining from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with the opener scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. WJON

- ➤ The Stearns County Household Hazardous Waste Facility saw 709 vehicles drop off outdated electronics every 45 seconds at its electronic waste collection event—four semi-trailers were filled and 83% of the participants were local residents. KNSI
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City officials in Sartell say they will break ground on a new franchise hotel in 2025 near the Central MN Health Care hub and will share its name and location details within the next month. They also plan to install a new stop light at Pine Cone and 7th Street, rebuild the golf course club house starting mid-summer with a March opening next year, add walking paths on the former paper mill site this fall, and hire a new Public Works Director and fire chief starting June 2.
