COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Tri-County Humane Society in St. Cloud is hosting a Kitten Shower over the next couple of days, inviting residents to drop off donations such as canned kitten food + baby blankets to help feed and care for newborn kittens during kitten season. WJON
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Great River Regional Library invites local artists of all ages to join its Library Card Design Contest starting June 1, with entries accepted until June 30 and winners notified early July—selected designs will appear on library cards in September. WJON
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Minnesota Department of Transportation reopened the Little Falls exit ramp on Highway 10 after completing repairs to the bridge (damaged by a truck last year) near Haven Road. Drivers now have improved access to the area. WJON
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Recent warm weather has raised water temperatures on Minnesota lakes by 6+ to 10+ degrees, boosting walleye activity in smaller lakes. Anglers are advised to fish near points and shorelines this weekend while northern lakes are expected to see improvements later this week. WJON
- ➤ Cathedral’s boys golf team rallied at Legacy Golf Course on Wednesday at Craguns near Brainerd to win the Cardinal Invite. The team overcame a two-shot deficit with five holes left to play with Andrew Schuver posting a 73. WJON
- ➤ The St. Cloud Rox will implement a cashless payment system at Joe Faber Field during the 2026 season to boost faster transactions—cash will still be accepted for the double-header day game on July 23, and card fees will be waived for concessions and merchandise. WJON
- ➤ The Rox rallied from a 3 to 0 deficit in Dickinson on Wednesday night with a two-run hit by Nolan Geislinger to win 8 to 5 (their comeback lifts team spirit). They will open their home season today at Joe Faber Field after finishing their road trip. WJON
