- ➤ The Great River Children's Museum in downtown St. Cloud will open on June 10 with eight core exhibits and over 31,000 square feet of space—ready to offer hands-on fun for local families. A grand celebration weekend is set for June 20 to June 22, and the museum expects to welcome about 130,000 visitors annually. WJON
- ➤ Fishing from the pier at Warner Lake County Park near Clearwater is off limits while the Stearns County Parks Department installs a new floating dock—officials say the project will be complete next week—and the rest of the park remains open. KNSI
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Xcel Energy has teamed up with Minnesota Natural Landscapes to use 1,500 sheep and a guard dog—Ozzy—to graze over 5,000 acres at the Sherco solar farm near the Generating Plant. Company officials said the grazing method is more cost-effective than hiring vegetation contractors and Phase 2 of the project will start soon. KNSI

- ➤ Today, Cathedral High School students ended the school year by volunteering at local nonprofits including Great Theater and the Humane Society—each location had 10 to 20 students working up to four hours. They also hosted a car wash from 12pm-2pm at school—money raised will benefit the Terebinth Refuge Center. WJON

- ➤ Cold Spring City Council chose a construction manager at risk to lead the government center remodeling—officials say this approach reduces liability by consolidating contracts. The project will begin this fall in two phases, first using the vacated fire department space and later taking over the library area, with the architect preparing a bid request soon. KNSI

- ➤ Foley teen trap shooter Aidin Payonk won the Class B title at the Missouri State Shoot held from May 19th to May 25th in Missouri—his strong performance drew praise from the Missouri Trapshooters Association. WJON
