COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The annual Summertime By George free concert series, run by the St. Cloud Rotary Club, will begin Wednesday with free live music for eight weeks — Pandemic opens at 5:30 p.m. — Rumours and Dreams: A Fleetwood Mac Tribute will play at 7:00 p.m.  WJON

CULTURE NEWS

  • The annual Lemonade Concert and Art Fair will take place on June 26 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in St. Cloud—featuring 148 vendors, local music by Aaron Clafton, kids’ activities, and a symphony performance during Granite City Days.  WJON
  • Great River Children's Museum opened earlier this month and is hosting its official grand opening this weekend with hands-on experiences like rock painting, collaborative art, sidewalk chalk art, and origami boat making. The museum offers daily giveaways including a free GRCM logo cookie for the first 250 visitors on Friday, free Jupiter Moon Ice Cream on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., and free freeze pops on Sunday + food trucks and cottage caterers will serve outside.  WJON

EDUCATION NEWS

  • St. Cloud State moved the Husky Bookstore from Centennial Hall to the Atwood Memorial Center after 24 years to increase its visibility for sports fans and students—summer hours are 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will expand when classes resume in August.  KNSI

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Residents in District 4 will be able to vote absentee for the board commissioners special election primary starting next week, with voting beginning on June 27 and ending on August 12. Votes can be cast by mail or in-person at the Stearns County Service Center Election Office in Waite Park—this election will replace retired commissioner Leigh Lenzmeier and feature six candidates, with two advancing after the primary.  KNSI
  • St. Cloud Police will host a Dog Walker Watch meeting on Tuesday, June 24 at Jaycee’s Park from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. to help residents learn how to spot counterfeit cash and boost police-community relations—well-behaved dogs may join while their owners learn.  KNSI
