- ➤ St. Cloud V.A. is teaming with local businesses to help veterans find jobs and volunteer roles that match their skills—Tiffany Stang and Jeffrey Swann said employers support veterans with temporary positions until their preferred roles open up. WJON
- ➤ Former Minnesota Viking Esera Tuaolo is hosting the Hate Is Wrong Pride Kick Off Party at The House Food and Tap in St. Joseph on Sunday—running from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.—with a DJ, drag show, and donations from 20 percent of tap wall sales plus 100 percent of grill sales going to his anti-bullying foundation. He launched his foundation in 2017 and plans for this event to be the first of many community Pride celebrations. WJON

- ➤ Police arrested a Woodbury woman after she allegedly led a high-speed chase through three counties on Saturday night—starting on Highway 23 with a wrong-way drive and reaching speeds over 90 mph and 117 mph—before she was taken to the Stearns County Jail. WJON
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources expanded its deer feeding ban to Sherburne County to help slow the spread of chronic wasting disease and now covers 32 counties. The guidance says hunters can use items like non-scented ropes and mock scrapes if no scents are added — a step to keep deer from gathering too closely. KNSI
- ➤ Rain has eased drought in Minnesota with 62 percent of the state abnormally dry (down from 66 percent last week), though north central areas remain dry with 10 percent in moderate drought (down from 17 percent last week). St. Cloud received 2.82 inches of rain in June so far, which is 0.59 inch above normal, and strong storms are expected next week. WJON

- ➤ New Minnesota laws will require boaters 12 and older (born after June 30) to get a watercraft permit with a one-time $34.95 fee starting July 1, will allow motorcycle lane splitting under a 25 mph limit and 15 mph speed difference, and will raise the cannabis tax to 15% to boost state revenue, state Rep. Tim O'Driscoll said. WJON

- ➤ The FDA announced a recall on chicken alfredo meals sold at Walmart and Kroger after a listeria outbreak linked to 17 cases — including one in Minnesota, several hospitalizations, and a miscarriage; consumers are advised to check their freezers and refrigerators and not eat the affected products.
