  • The St. Cloud Fire Department will return its mobile splash pad to Rotary Park East on July 12 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., partnering with the Park and Recreation Department for a free event. Families can enjoy water fun and lawn games while mingling with firefighters + police.  KNSI

BUSINESS NEWS

  • The Initiative Foundation celebrated 12 young entrepreneurs who graduated from its Enterprise Academy in spring 2025—local leaders behind businesses like Waamo Cafe and Brenda's Place are set to launch new services in St. Cloud. The program, which has helped over 300 locals start ventures since 2018, marks another step in boosting the local economy.  WJON

CRIME NEWS

  • Former St. Cloud Planning Commissioner Lenora Hunt pleaded guilty on June 24th in Stearns County District Court to illegally transferring a handgun during an undercover investigation into fentanyl sales by helping Devounteno Lavance Tyson sell the weapon—she received a 90-day stayed jail sentence, one year of probation, and paid $189 in fines.  KNSI

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Stearns History Museum will host the annual art fair on July 17 at Munsinger and Clemens Gardens on Riverside Drive SE in St. Cloud. The free event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and feature artwork from about 60 local artists, live music by Paul Imholte and Cathie English, and local food vendors — inviting visitors to enjoy a full day outdoors.  WJON

EDUCATION NEWS

  • More than two dozen job seekers received new training from Career Solutions and St. Cloud Technical and Community College today. Eleven studied welding under the Drive for 5 grant—while 14 learned facilities maintenance and will connect with local employers for jobs.  WJON

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Moderate flooding is building on the Minnesota River after Wednesday’s downpour—and it is expected to last until next week. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources said that drought near the Mississippi headwaters in Cass, Hubbard, and Wadena Counties helped keep the Sauk and Mississippi near St. Cloud below flood stage, even as water levels rose in Beaver Falls, Morton, and Redwood Falls.  KNSI

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Rising water levels in central Minnesota are moving fish to places with flowing water. Expert Glen Schmitt advises anglers to try fishing near channels+ inlets, culverts, and the Mississippi, Sauk, and Crow Rivers using nightcrawlers or leaches for walleye.  WJON

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Homebuyers in St. Cloud now have more time to shop for homes as listings remain on the market for about 40 days—letting buyers negotiate better deals while sellers still get nearly all of their asking price, according to Craig Ehrlichman of Premier Real Estate Services.  WJON
