Good morning, St. Cloud.

St. Cloud once had two drive-in theaters featuring the Cloud Drive-In in Waite Park and the 10-Hi Drive-In on the east side, which allowed families to enjoy movies under the stars.

The Cloud Drive-In opened June 10th and held 389 cars, while the 10-Hi Drive-In opened in 1962 with room for 300 vehicles before both closed in the late 1970s.

Sartell received a $2 million grant from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development—money that will fund street and utility upgrades for Niron Magnetics’ planned groundbreaking this year on a $38 million, 190,000 square foot facility that will create 175 jobs; the company plans to invest an additional $62 million in future expansion.
