- ➤ Community leaders reported a 9% rise in homelessness from 2023 to 2024 as outreach workers found many individuals in shelters, vehicles, and temporary encampments. They noted recent sightings on the east side and urged mayors to act—demanding lasting housing solutions. WJON
- ➤ Stearns County Sheriff’s Office will serve root beer floats and host games at the 5th annual Community Floats event on July 17th at River’s Edge Park in Waite Park from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.—local comedian Adrian Washington will lead the festivities as kids view police vehicles and fire trucks and treats are available while supplies last. - ➤ The Camera Shop in downtown St. Cloud has teamed up with The Print Refinery after 77 years to add digital services like film processing and photo conversion. - ➤ A Richmond man was booked on suspicion of felony 3rd-degree assault when he attacked another man at a home north of Eden Valley just before 3:00 a.m. on Saturday—after a weekend gathering—and left the victim with a large cut above his eye, swelling, and blood clots from his nose. WJON

- ➤ The St. Cloud Summer Concert Series returns today at Barden Park with the Municipal Band playing a Wild West themed show at 7:00 p.m.—free concerts continue with the Meire Grove Band on July 17th, the Municipal Band with an Around the World set on July 24th, a themed concert on July 31st, the Rock City Big Band on August 7th, and a Golden Oldies show on August 14th with root beer float sales supporting Friends of Barden Park. - ➤ Today, the Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation invites locals and visitors to send in photos that capture the region’s natural beauty, community events, arts, and fun from within 25 miles of the city. Three winners—receiving $500, $300, and $200—will be chosen from entries submitted online by August 29. KNSI

- ➤ St. Cloud’s planning commission unanimously approved a plan to add affordable workforce housing by allowing developers to change building rules along Cooper Avenue South and 40th Street South (units cost $300,000 to $380,000 and are aimed at households earning $80,000 to $110,000), despite strong neighborhood opposition; the proposal will go to city council next month for a public hearing.
