- ➤ Friday night at the Ledge Amphitheater, the Turnpike Troubadours—along with guest Old Crow Medicine Show—gave a lively concert after rain cleared at 4:00 p.m., playing folk and country rock for a dancing crowd and setting the stage for Warren Zeiders on July 18th. WJON
- ➤ DeSoda’s Night in Midtown Square Mall was a popular club that opened in late 1987 and remained in the late 1990s—renowned for retro music from the 50s to 80s, lively dance nights, and unique contests like Velcro suit races and human bowling designed to offer a different fun away from the downtown college scene. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Stearns County Sheriff's Office reminds boaters that a No Wake Ordinance is active on area lakes after heavy rains, with the rule applying to within 300 feet of the shoreline on lakes including Two Rivers, Rice, North Brown’s, Big Lake, the Sauk River Chain, Grass, Clearwater, Lake Augusta, and Lake Caroline — while Long and Crooked Lakes no longer have the restriction. Boaters are urged to obey the ordinance as patrols monitor lake activity. WJON

- ➤ The St. Cloud Rox swept the Waterloo Bucks with a 6-1 win on Friday night (final score confirmed) as good pitching and timely hitting helped secure the victory. They will play Mankato on Saturday and host the Moondogs on Sunday (next games set to boost the season). WJON
