- ➤ The Stearns History Museum and Reuse Minnesota will host a free Fix-It Clinic on Friday, August 15 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Whitney Senior Center in St. Cloud where skilled volunteers will repair up to two household items per home—also teaching repair skills; residents must pre-register for the event through SignUpGenius. - ➤ The Golly family's farm near Clear Lake began in 1979 with chickens and grew into a 1,700-acre operation growing seed corn, soybeans, and rye that earned them Sherburne County’s Farm Family of the Year award. Son Kiel now runs daily operations—supported by his wife and children—while John and Lynette remain actively involved in maintaining sustainable practices. KNSI

- ➤ A Rice man, identified as 23-year-old Tate Lehnen, died after his car crashed into the Sauk River Horseshoe Chain of Lakes on Thursday at the 2000 block of Edgeton Road—about four miles south of Richmond—when he overcorrected a left-hand turn. WJON
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of St. Cloud will begin road maintenance Monday on over four dozen streets as crews work on pothole patching and resurfacing — drivers should expect lane shifts, flag control, and minor delays in work zones. KNSI
- ➤ The 500 block of 17th Ave N—from 5½ St N to 5th St N—and 5th St N from 17th Ave N to the alley west of it will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on August 16 for a community event — no detour is provided. City of St. Cloud
- ➤ Deputy Cole Thoma will join other officers at Sunday’s Twins game in Minneapolis where he will be honored as one of Minnesota’s top DWI enforcers after making 39 arrests last year—an honor given by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety’s Office of Traffic Safety. Pre-game ceremonies will occur before the first pitch at noon. KNSI
- ➤ Lincoln Ave SE from Trunk Highway 23 to 4th Street SE will be closed from Monday, August 11 until Wednesday, August 13, 2025 due to work, and people can reach businesses via 7th Street SE.
