COMMUNITY NEWS

  • St. Cloud Toyota will donate used tires to be turned into running shoes on September 13th at Kleinfelter Park to support the INDY Foundation as part of the Second Annual Make A Difference 5K. Organizer Mitch Evens said the race will include a superhero-themed 1K run with free capes from El-Jay Plumbing and Heating—adding live music, food, and bounce houses for families.  KNSI

CRIME NEWS

  • St. Cloud Police are asking for help in finding Amarion Dwayne Easley, a 15-year-old boy last seen July 21st at about 1:45 a.m. at Clearwater Road when he left his mother—he is described as black, 5’6” tall and 140 pounds with brown eyes, black hair and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, jeans and Nike shoes.  KNSI
  • Adelle Starin, the former owner of Baby’s on Broadway in St. Cloud and Little Falls, was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison for a $9M fraud scheme that involved false TRICARE claims and the creation of a fake company called Sunshine Medical LLC—she must also serve three years of supervised release and pay $2.35M in restitution—federal prosecutors said.  KNSI
  • Families of two children killed in Wednesday’s deadly attack at Annunciation Catholic Church urged neighbors to remember the youngsters for their loving nature rather than the violence that ended their lives—both families said their loss calls for actions to help prevent future tragedies.  KNSI

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • West St. Germain Street will be closed from 10th Ave to 9th Ave on September 6 due to a Paramount Theater event—drivers should use alternate routes.  City of St. Cloud
  • Sartell Police received many calls about young riders on e-bikes and scooters and are reminding residents of state rules—city leaders now plan to consider a new ordinance to better guide safe riding, with a committee set to review the issues and draft guidelines by the end of the year. The proposed changes may be in effect by 2026.  KNSI

SPORTS NEWS

  • Cathedral's football team lost its season opener to Holdingford by 42-7 on Thursday night after a close first half but Holdingford scored 20 points in the fourth quarter. The soccer team won 5-1 on Thursday evening with Jacob Oliver scoring three goals and will host Morris on Tuesday.  WJON
