COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud honored Jane Marrin and Janelle Kendall with its Good Samaritan Awards for many years of community service — Marrin supported adoptions and counseling while Kendall has led local events and fundraisers. Both women were praised for their dedication to helping others without expecting a return.  WJON

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Following its merger with Old National Bank last May, Bremer Bank will cut 244 jobs at its Bremer Service Center in Lake Elmo between October 24 and November 14 — the cuts will affect roles such as accounting, auditing, and IT while the St. Cloud branch remains unaffected.  KNSI

CRIME NEWS

  • A 15-year-old St. Cloud teenager, Amarion Dwayne Easley—who went missing in late July—was found safe Monday morning after a public tip helped investigators locate him.  KNSI
  • Stearns County prosecutors charged Stuart Hanmer with second-degree murder after investigators found online searches and purchases for thallium that they say linked him to the poisoning death of his roommate Cody Ernst at a St. Cloud transition house last spring—Hanmer was arrested on Sept. 3 and is held with a bail of $4 million, with his next court appearance scheduled for Sept. 19.  St. Cloud Times

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Traffic restrictions have been in place on 22nd Street South between Cooper Avenue South and Oak Grove Road since Monday due to utility crews starting work on sewer, water, and drainage upgrades in preparation for a major 2026 road project—drivers should plan for delays until early November.  KNSI

HEALTH NEWS

  • A new website was launched to help central Minnesota residents get mental health support. Local volunteers built HelpingCentralMN to provide 24-hour phone, text, and chat services along with appointment and video information for those facing depression and suicidal thoughts—help is always available.  KNSI
