BUSINESS NEWS

  • The 14th annual Central Minnesota Tour of Manufacturing will take place Oct. 1-4 in the St. Cloud area — offering behind-the-scenes tours at 24 companies so visitors can learn about new technologies and career paths. The free event will also honor Two Rivers Enterprises as Manufacturer of the Year and introduce local students to modern industry opportunities.  St. Cloud Times

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Wirth Center for the Performing Arts launched a campaign with a $3 million goal to build a community arts center in the Daniel Building downtown that will feature wellness programs, recording studio, dance rooms and art spaces. The center will relocate by June next year — renovations and program expansions are set to finish by late 2028 to better serve community members.  St. Cloud Times

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The northern lights lit the sky this morning in Minnesota when a geomagnetic storm reached a Kp value of 7. The Statewide Star Party at St. Cloud State University planetarium—Bell Museum will show the celestial display later this week.  KNSI

HEALTH NEWS

  • Registration is open for the St. Cloud Walk to End Alzheimer’s event on October 11th at Lake George. The walk will include a Promise Garden ceremony where colored flowers—purple for those who lost someone, yellow for caregivers, blue for people with Alzheimer’s, and orange for supporters—will show the connection to the cause while funds raised will support local programs and national research with a $145,000 goal and over 40% already raised.  KNSI

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • New data from Realtor.com shows that in June, homes in Stearns County sold at a median price of $289,556—a slight drop from May's $290,000 but up 1.2% from last June. Recorded sales grew to 220, and prices for condominiums and townhomes jumped sharply from a median of $130,000 in May to $542,500 in June.  St. Cloud Times

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Saturday, local high school soccer games saw Watertown Mayer defeat Big Lake 6-1 and Becker beat Coon Rapids 6-1 in girls matches—Cloquet-Carlton also outscored St. Cloud Crush 4-1 while Sartell won 2-0 against St. Michael-Albertville in boys play.  WJON
