Tribute bands are set to perform at Pioneer Place on Fifth in downtown St. Cloud this month — Mallrats will open with an MTV Unplugged tribute at 7:30 p.m. this Friday as shows paying homage to Queen, Journey and others follow.

District 742 will reveal plans for Apollo High School’s safe entry renovations—including a new front entrance, activity entry and storm shelter that preserves parking and building space—at the board meeting on Wednesday.

Officials said bids for the new athletic facility will be issued in spring and that the district continues to face challenges filling substitute teacher roles.

Veterans in Central Minnesota will have their annual flu shots available at the St. Cloud VA Health Care System through scheduled appointments and walk—thru clinics held from October 6 to October 18.

The Brainerd VA Clinic will host a drive—thru clinic on October 8, and more than 70,000 Community Care Network retail pharmacies and urgent care centers will offer free shots.
