COMMUNITY NEWS

  • At the Sartell Community Center, organizers Rusty and Dayna Deters hosted the 5th Annual Monster Dash yesterday with a 5K run for adults and a 1K run for kids — followed by a Tricks or Treating event where over 1,000 children enjoyed candy, while about 400 people raced from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  WJON

CULTURE NEWS

  • Randy Winscher, coowner of Wicked Woods near Royalton, offers a haunted corn maze called Nightfall with scary actors and a kid friendly Little Monsters area designed by his family. Nightfall runs Fridays and Saturdays from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. and Little Monsters runs Saturdays from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. until *November 1st* with tickets costing $20 for Nightfall and $15 for kids 9 and older while younger children are free.  WJON

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Friday, October 24, local high school girls volleyball saw wins by Albany, Atwater Cosmos Grove City, Eden Valley Watkins and New London Spicer — the teams posted solid scores. In Tuesday football playoffs, Melrose beat St. Cloud Apollo 64 to 20, St. Cloud Cathedral won 63 to 0 and teams including Sauk Rapids Rice, Kimball, Dassel Cokato and Princeton recorded wins — setting up the next rounds.  WJON
