- ➤ Fare For All made a stop on November 3 at Resurrection Lutheran Church in St. Joe to offer affordable groceries and a $10 discount for SNAP cardholders until November 30 while funding lasts — the food initiative provided hot deals and prepackaged frozen items at many central Minnesota locations to help families prepare for the holidays. - ➤ Catholic Charities Emergency Services Food Shelf is asking for new, unopened dried herbs and spices for its annual Spice Drive through December 31st—donations can be dropped off at St. Cloud Financial Credit Union's branch at 3030 1st Street South during business hours. KNSI
- ➤ The Great River Children’s Museum is asking families to donate children’s Halloween costumes at its St. Cloud site until November 16th—costumes must be clean and labeled with the proper size—to help local kids dress up next Halloween. The museum is also needing storage totes and volunteers to wash, sort, and pack the donations during regular hours at 110 8th Avenue South. KNSI
- ➤ TriCounty Humane Society will host its 40th Santa Paws event from November 13th to November 15th—people can book a five-minute pet photo session for $55 that includes five portraits on a flash drive set against a gingerbread house backdrop. WJON
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters could not save a home on the south side after a garage fire spread into the main house Friday morning, and they had to enter through a second-story window using a ladder— the home was declared a total loss. KNSI

- ➤ Mid-State Tile, a 5-generation family business with 94 years of service, is opening a newly remodeled showroom in St. Cloud and will hold a grand open house on November 10th+ it is offering 20% off labor on residential projects until December 10th+ the event marks new beginnings for the longtime firm. - ➤ Central Appliance Recyclers, a family-owned business that has served St. Cloud for 35 years, will permanently close on November 14th — it is now accepting only drop-offs at 3107 Highway 10. Customers must settle any outstanding invoices before closing — pickup services have already ended. KNSI

- ➤ A husband and wife duo from Grand Forks will perform their Project: Constellation at the St. Cloud Public Library on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.—the show will feature Swedish and Norwegian songs that mix children’s tunes with rock music to celebrate Scandinavian heritage. WJON

- ➤ Gas prices in Minnesota fell to an average of $2.86 per gallon last week—experts warn that ongoing refinery challenges may soon push prices higher. WJON

- ➤ District 742 officials discussed three naming options—APEX Athletics Complex, APEX 742 Athletic Training Facility, and ACT Athletic Center—for Apollo High School’s new $15 million indoor athletic facility during a school board meeting. The project, which will offer space for soccer, softball, lacrosse, baseball, football and golf practice along with batting cages and simulators, follows voter approval on April 8th. WJON
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Deer are more active during the rut and have led to a rise in deer-vehicle crashes, with St. Cloud being a key area, according to biologist Ron Moen.
