COMMUNITY NEWS

  • John and Cindy Fuls will wind down Tanner's Team Foundation in June as they close out 15 years of support after granting over $1 million to more than 600 Central Minnesota families—plans include reaching $1.5 million in grants before it dissolves. They continue to accept donations and grant applications while honoring the memory of their son Tanner.  WJON

CULTURE NEWS

  • This weekend, the Zonta Christmas House at 1408 Antler Creek Court in Sartell will host a festive event from Friday 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. that features holiday decor, a Winter Marketplace with over 15 vendors, and local scholarships in celebration of the Zonta Club’s 75th anniversary — 12 local decorators are participating.  WJON
  • St. Cloud’s Shavonne 'Chevy' Crume won the Plates & Partners competition on November 2nd—she earned three trophies and a tour partner role with chef Mrs. O. She will lead the catering team as Captain of Squad B on a national tour starting February 6 through May in 2026.  WJON
  • The Stearns History Museum is hosting a gingerbread architecture class this Saturday at Granite Innovations in downtown St. Cloud from 11:00 a.m. to noon led by local architect Whitney Lougheed+participants must pre-register and pay $15, with an optional tour afterward.  WJON

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Public Utilities posted tips today for residents to use smart salting that lessens chloride runoff in local waterways—using a coffee mug’s worth of salt for a 20-foot driveway and spacing granules 2-3 inches apart helps keep lakes and rivers clean. The tip also advises shoveling frequently and safely storing unused salt to prevent spills near storm drains.  City of St. Cloud

SPORTS NEWS

  • Tony Arnerich, a former manager of the River Bats from 2007 to 2009, has been named bench coach for the Cleveland Guardians. He served as bullpen and hitting coach with the Mariners + his move marks another step in his rise in baseball coaching.  WJON
  • St. John's University football team, ranked 7th with a 9-1 record, will host Monmouth College on November 29th at noon in Collegeville after clinching an NCAA Division III tournament spot with a 63-21 win over St. Olaf — a victory that sets their path to face UW-River Falls, Whiteworth or Chapman on December 6th if they prevail.  WJON
