- ➤ The annual Toys for Tots campaign is underway in the St. Cloud metro with over 250 drop-off boxes and toy drives planned at Five Below on November 28, Stearns History Museum on December 5, and Walmart in Sartell on December 6. Families can sign up to receive toys through Catholic Charities and Bethlehem Lutheran Church or attend a special distribution at Willow Creek Park Shelter in Kimball on December 6 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. WJON
- ➤ Today, local businesses Jules’ Bistro and Pantown Brewing Company host Beeranthropy from 3–10 p.m. in support of the St. Cloud Police Department’s Shop With A Cop program, with Pantown donating 25% of sales plus 100% of tips and Jules serving homemade chilis with doughnuts. The event—featuring a live set by local pianist Ted Manderfeld from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.—will help support local families during the holiday season. WJON

- ➤ Registration for the 2026 Stearns County Polar Plunge opens for February 21 at Avon Beach starting at noon. Participants can sign up individually or on a team and must raise at least $75 to help 260 athletes attend the Special Olympics USA Games in Minneapolis — those who opt to stay dry can choose the 'Too Chicken to Plunge' option. - ➤ HOM Furniture will acquire the family-owned Hennen Furniture effective January 1, keeping the Hennen brand and its local legacy near Crossroads Shopping Center. - ➤ The Paramount Center for the Arts is setting up a holiday season as Great Theatre’s Annie will play for the next three weekends—followed by The Nutcracker on December 12th–14th, The George Maurer Group on December 15th and Lori Line on December 18th. Later shows include Rock N Roll Christmas Spectacular on December 19th–23rd, A Don’t Hug My Christmas Carol on December 26th–28th and New Year performances with Tonic Sol Fa, Dueling Pianos and Earth, Wind and Fire at the Ledge Amphitheater. - ➤ Most of the turkeys thawed this week come from Minnesota farms that use modern breeding methods — these methods help birds grow faster with less feed. The turkey industry adds over $1 billion to the economy and supports 26,000 jobs — family farms strengthen local communities as they work to fight bird flu. WJON

- ➤ St. Cloud Technical & Community College was named Best for Vets College 2025 by Military Times—one of 357 schools recognized nationwide for its veteran support. - ➤ Later this month, Minnesota residents will have one final chance this year to visit 73 state parks for free on November 28 as part of Free Parks Day. The DNR says late November is ideal for bird watching and offers a naturalist-led hike at Wild River State Park, a scavenger hunt at Gooseberry Falls, and a reptile demonstration at Lake Maria State Park — the closest park to St. Cloud — to showcase nature this season. - ➤ Today the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources clarified new rules for ice fishing that allow non-motorized hook-setting devices and let anglers use up to three hooks with an 18-inch gap—replacing the previous 9-inch limit. The changes, following public input, will take effect this winter and appear in the March 2026 fishing regulations. WJON
