- ➤ The St. Cloud Area School District launched Feed 742 Kids — a drive-up food assistance program offering free food boxes every Tuesday at Talahi Community School and every Thursday at Madison Elementary from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. until the end of the year. The initiative partners with community groups such as LEAF and Catholic Charities to support local families in need. WJON

- ➤ John Waseka, longtime owner of Copper Kitchen, died at 70 after running the restaurant for 42 years and mentoring local youth — his family started the business in 1966 and his daughter Maddie later took over — leaving a strong mark on the community. - ➤ Stone Creek Killer is a thriller from northern Minnesota that will be available to stream on November 28th. The film was shot in Chisholm in 10 days on a $300,000 budget and follows a police chief who works with a psychic to track a serial killer—details shared by director Robert Enriquez. WJON
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Minnesota DNR announced new winter fishing limits for Lake Mille Lacs that will take effect on December 1, with anglers allowed to keep three walleye longer than 17 inches—only one of which may exceed 20 inches. The limits will also set a ten-fish daily cap for yellow perch until May 8 and increase the northern pike allowance from three to five with a 30-inch maximum until March 31. WJON

- ➤ Attorney General Keith Ellison advised customers who lost deposits with Minnesota Rusco, a home renovation company that closed on October 29 and filed for Chapter 7 on November 3, to gather all contracts and receipts and reach out to credit card companies—he noted that those with financing should review their agreements for Holder Rule protections and file a complaint with his office if needed. - ➤ Cold Spring’s Jordan Barth, a former St. Cloud Rox player, was drafted by the Texas Tailgaters in the Banana Ball League to play next season. He was chosen in the second round with the third pick and will make his debut on February 28 when the Tailgaters host the Savannah Bananas in Tallahassee — a key step in his career. WJON
