- ➤ St. John's Prep raised over $3,700 and collected 951 food items from its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive in St. Joseph—helping more than 30 local families secure a festive meal this holiday. WJON
- ➤ Tri-County Humane Society will host Black Fur-Day Weekend adoption deals from Friday, November 28 through Sunday, November 30—adoptable cats 6 months and older will cost $5 while kittens under 6 months and dogs 6 months and older will be 50% off if they are ready to leave the shelter. WJON
- ➤ Local radio stations in Central Minnesota will start broadcasting codes on-air on December 1—letting listeners enter a contest to win a dream vacation. Participants must submit their codes online by 7 p.m. each day to boost their chances. WJON
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ The largest Kwik Trip store at 16,842 square feet is in Byron, Minnesota, and Minnesota and Wisconsin each have four of the top 10 sizes. Kwik Trip will open new locations in Minnesota, North Dakota and Iowa this December — with a Fargo site on Dec 11 and a Lomira store on Dec 18. St. Cloud Times
- ➤ Local shops in St. Cloud and nearby communities are planning major sales, unique deals and giveaways for Small Business Saturday on Nov. 29—events include discounts at Books Revisited, Spice of Life Tea Shop and community markets downtown and in Sauk Rapids, Cold Spring and St. Joseph. The holiday, which helps boost shop profits, will offer shoppers special promotions and limited-edition items across the region. St. Cloud Times

- ➤ Pioneer Place in downtown St. Cloud will host the family-friendly 'Celebrate Me Home — Sounds of the Holiday Season' at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, and next weekend it will offer 80s and rock-themed Christmas events for multiple generations. WJON
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Seniors at Sartell-St. Stephen High are building a Habitat for Humanity house onsite to learn construction skills and help save $25,000 for a future homeowner — they work during class time two blocks from school. Teacher Joe Schulte said the project offers a real construction experience and plans already include a sixth house next school year — the program partners with a local technical college for plumbing and electrical work. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Stearns County Highway Department warns residents to clear driveways and sidewalks without pushing snow onto public roads because doing so creates hazards for drivers, damages snowplows, and can form deep snowdrifts that trap vehicles, with violations carrying a misdemeanor penalty of a $700 fine and a three-month jail sentence (if caught). - ➤ Central Minnesota singles can join a speed dating event during the Norsemen hockey game on December 20th where speed dating starts around 7 p.m. and an $8 ticket covers game access, dating admission, and a free drink—this event offers a relaxed chance to meet new people. WJON
