CULTURE NEWS

  • Board game designer Emily Vincent turned her idea for Knitting Circle, a game that mixes knitting with cats, into a published game in just three months — she met Flatout Games at Unpub and quickly decided to add cats to her design. She explained that her next game, Pirates of the High Teas, took three years to develop.  WJON
  • During Cold Spring’s Santa Day, local businesses will drop off their gingerbread house entries at City Hall from December 5th to 8th for judging—residents will vote for the winning design that receives an award plaque.  WJON

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Minnesota have dropped to $2.87 per gallon ahead of the holiday season—some stations now sell fuel under $2 per gallon as refinery maintenance wraps up and OPEC boosts oil production for December.  WJON

SPORTS NEWS

  • On November 29, the St. Cloud Crush boys hockey team overcame an early deficit to win 4-3 in overtime against Mounds View with goals from Russ Eck, Isaac Buttweiler and Logan Ylinen who scored the winning goal two minutes into extra time. In girls hockey, the Crush defeated Sartell-Sauk Rapids 4-0 while River Lakes beat Crookston 6-4 and Willmar edged Princeton-Big Lake-Becker 2-1.  WJON
