- ➤ Central Minnesota will host many Christmas celebrations this month—festivals, holiday markets and shows are scheduled in St. Cloud, St. Joseph, Sauk Rapids and Sartell. Local events include Beaver Island Brewing’s holiday market with vendor discounts and Santa photo sessions at Crossroads Center Mall. St. Cloud Times
- ➤ St. Cloud's Makers Market is set for Saturday, December 6 at The Regency Venue where local artisans will offer handmade gifts, baked treats, and a free art project for kids led by teaching artist Shane Mahon. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with most items priced between $25 and $50. WJON
- ➤ Metro Bus has announced the Jolly Trolley Food Drive that begins December 15 when volunteers will collect food and cash donations at local grocery stores from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.—the drive will support local food shelves and aid families in need, benefiting Catholic Charities Emergency Services, the Promise Neighborhood, and the St. Cloud Salvation Army. - ➤ The Gnarly Bard Theater will host 'The Naughty List 2,' a holiday musical featuring Kiwi the Elf and a live jazz trio this December—tickets remain for select matinees and evening shows after strong early sales. WJON

- ➤ Clear skies are forecast in Minnesota for the Geminid Meteor Shower on December 13th with its peak at 2 a.m.—experts expect up to 120 bright meteors per hour thanks to the dim moon, giving locals a prime night to watch the show. WJON

- ➤ The City Engineer's Office announced a lane shift along 5th Avenue South from December 8 to December 12 as part of utility work near First Presbyterian Church now being converted into a drug rehab facility. - ➤ The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission asked families to stop using Fyzvexo Infant Walkers from Walmart immediately because the walkers can fit through doorways and may let a child slip into danger + customers should dispose of them. WJON

- ➤ St. John's football team won 49-15 against Monmouth last Saturday on a snowy field in Collegeville and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen—wide receiver Dylan Wheeler caught 10 passes for 144 yards with 4 touchdowns while quarterback Trey Feeney threw 6 touchdown passes. They will face UW-River Falls at noon Saturday as NFL scouts from 15 teams keep a close eye on Wheeler. WJON
