COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Waite Park officials are working with the Ledge Amphitheater team and its concession partner to add new stations and a picnic area for the 2026 season (a move aimed at reducing long food truck lines and capturing more local spending).  KNSI

CULTURE NEWS

  • St. Cloud’s B-Side Indie Music Café will host a holiday card carving class on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Participants will carve a 5 X 7 linoleum block and transfer the design onto cards (registration is required with a $40 fee).  WJON
  • Grande Depot is celebrating the holiday season with 14,000 sqft of Christmas decor, gifts, wines and treats in the historic 1912 building — a former Soo Line Depot ticket booth. CFO Jodie Friebe and GM Cindy Kunkel are preparing the store to impress shoppers in St. Cloud.  St. Cloud Times

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Starting January 2nd, St. Cloud Public Library will open an hour earlier and close an hour earlier as Clearwater Public Library shifts its Wednesday evening hours from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with library leaders saying the changes better meet patrons' needs.  WJON
  • St. Cloud Area School Board recommended a comprehensive elementary boundary redraw on Wednesday to balance enrollment for over 500 students starting in 2026-27. Community feedback will be accepted at board meetings (beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Waite Park) before a final decision on Dec. 15.  KNSI
  • Steven Drake of Foley Alternative Learning Center is honored as Teacher of the Month, recognized for his dedication to keeping students on track for graduation. His win includes prizes from local businesses (Coyote Moon Grille and True's Pizza) and a plaque, celebrating outstanding efforts in education.  WJON

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The St. Cloud VA Health Care System permanently housed 66 homeless veterans, contributing to a national record for fiscal year 2025. It was part of the VA’s Getting Veterans Off the Street initiative launched in May 2025 + provided expanded outreach to unsheltered veterans.  KNSI

SPORTS NEWS

  • Powder Ridge in Kimball is set to open today at 3pm for skiing, snowboarding and tubing — visitors can also book weddings and receptions for future dates.  WJON
