- ➤ KVSC Trivia Marathon will be held February 13 to 15 in St. Cloud and costs $60 to enter + it features a Wild West theme. Loose Meat Sandwich Assembly RQD, a longtime team that once got a callback from J.K. Rowling + has competed since 1994, will join other teams. WJON
- ➤ The Great River Children's Museum will host Noon Year's Eve on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. featuring games, crafts, music, and a giant ball drop for kids to enjoy New Year's fun — admission is $14 for the public and free for members. WJON
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Starting in 2026, the outdoor show Minnesota Bound will air on KSTP’s Channel 5 Sunday nights at 11 p.m. and on Channel 45 Saturday evenings at 9:30 p.m.—the hosts announced the move after a 30-year run on KARE 11. WJON
- ➤ Pioneer Place on Fifth in downtown St. Cloud will host live tribute shows starting Friday at 7:30 p.m. with Hard Days Night honoring the Beatles and The 22nd Row celebrating Elton John on Saturday; additional shows, including a January 9 performance of The Last Waltz, are scheduled through May. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Eligible Minnesota workers can apply for paid leave today for family or medical reasons starting in 2026 as part of an early application window that gives extra planning time. The state will accept applications on its website. KNSI
- ➤ St. Cloud’s garbage and recycling pickup has moved from Thursday to Monday, Jan. 5 due to New Year’s Day, affecting residents in Hester Park, areas above 13th, at the VA Medical Center and Apollo High School, and in the northwest. The change applies to both green and blue routes+ residents should adjust their schedules. KNSI
- ➤ St. Cloud is updating its downtown plan with community ideas focused on improved river access and walkable streets, and the city will offer virtual reality previews this spring. Residents can attend open houses (Feb. and Mar.) to learn more about future projects along East and West St. Germain. WJON
